3rd Annual Ryan Ramczyk Lineman Camp Returning to Stevens Point

We are thrilled to announce that SPO will be hosting the 3rd annual Ryan Ramczyk Lineman Camp on June 21, 2023, at Goerke Field. The camp provides a unique opportunity for young athletes to learn from top NFL lineman, Ryan Ramczyk, in a supportive and safe environment.

The camp will feature two experiences: a Youth Camp for grades 3-8 and a High School Camp for grades 9-12 and 2023 graduates. Participants will have the chance to improve their football skills, build new relationships, and most importantly, have fun.

After being selected in the first round by the New Orleans Saints in 2017, Ramczyk was named Pro Football Focus run blocker of the year and second team All Pro in 2019. This led the Saints to keep him on their roster and sign him to a lucrative five-year contract extension in 2021. Prior to his professional career, Ramczyk played two seasons at UW-Stevens Point before transferring to UW-Madison, where he earned first-team All-Big Ten and first team All American honors during his 2016 season as a Wisconsin Badger.

“For me, it’s about giving back to the community. I grew up in Stevens Point and graduated from SPASH. When I was growing up, I attended local football camps where guys like Johnny Gray and Blaise Winter were heading up the camps. That had a huge impact on me and motivated me to dream big. I hope I can inspire and give kids that same feeling I had years ago,” said Ramczyk.

The camp was postponed in 2020 and 2021 due to COVID-19 but made a comeback in 2022 with an excellent turnout of 193 youth and high school athletes. This year, Ramczyk is once again back in his hometown and is looking forward to helping campers develop their football fundamentals. As he puts it, “What I enjoy most is seeing the excitement in their eyes and their desire to improve their game.”

We can’t wait to see the camp grow and attract more young athletes each year. When asked if Ryan is looking forward to his own sons participating in the camp when they’re older he responded, “Definitely, Jaxon is now 2 years old, and Callum is 3 months old. I’m already tossing the football with Jaxon and running around with him just like my dad did with me when I was little. It’s an absolute blast!”

Athletes can register at StevensPointortho.com/RRLC, for a cost of $71 per person. Registration is encouraged by June 9 to ensure a camp t-shirt. All camp proceeds will be donated to local organizations of Ryan’s choice. We’ll see you on the field!
