Sledding

From toddlers to adults, the whole family can have fun with an afternoon of sledding. Iverson Park has great hills for sledding enthusiasts whether they use sleds, toboggans, or saucers. There is even a hill specifically for children six years of age and under, which helps keep everyone safe.

Snowshoeing, Hiking & Fat Tire Biking

If you are looking to get off the beaten path check out Green Circle Trail. It offers 26-miles of scenic hiking and biking trails that loop through the Stevens Point area and connect with over 20 miles of additional trails. It winds through forests and parks, over wetlands, and along rivers, offering the perfect opportunity for snowshoeing, hiking and fat tire biking.

The Hostel Shoppe offers the widest selection of fat tire bike rentals in the Stevens Point area. Be sure to call ahead or email them to book your reservation.

Snowboarding & Skiing

Not only are there some fantastic sledding hills in Iverson Park, but you’ll also find choice snowboarding hills nearby. These hills are exclusively for snowboarders looking to shred on the slopes. For those interested in skiing, check out Iverson Park and Standing Rocks Park. Iverson Park offers a 2.5-mile cross country ski trail and Standing Rocks Park offers both downhill and cross-country skiing options.

Ice Skating

If you enjoy lacing up your skates and hitting the ice, there are plenty of opportunities around Stevens Point. Iverson and Goerke Parks offer lighted outdoor skating rinks. If you prefer to do your skating indoors, you’re in luck. The K.B. Willett Ice Arena has numerous events and skating opportunities throughout the winter months.

Ice Fishing

If you’re an angler, look no further than Stevens Point this winter. Depending on the temperature, the Wisconsin River freezes over and provides some excellent ice fishing opportunities.

Stevens Point offers plenty of activities to help you have fun and keep active during the winter months. However, always remember to stay safe while outside during the winter season. Be conscientious about icy walk-ways, always bring your cellphone with you when going outside, and dress warmly for all that chilly outdoor fun!
