Can you remember the last time you teed it up and hit a bomb down the fairway?

Neither can we!

Whether that’s due to COVID-19 shutdowns this summer, the cold Wisconsin winters, or a nagging pain/ache we all may be a little rusty come spring. But not to fear, the physical therapists at SPO are here to help. Our state-of-the-art Noraxon motion analysis technology allows them to record and analyze every aspect of your golf swing. After reviewing your swing, they are then be able to note even the smallest of deficiencies, specific to you, and assist you with improving your swing efficiency!

What should I expect during a golf swing analysis?

When you schedule your golf swing analysis, the physical therapist will conduct a comprehensive body movement exam. This exam will identify if you have any physical flexibility limitations, movement restrictions, or if any past injuries are impacting how you swing a club.

Along with the movement exam, they can also conduct a TPI screen (Titleist Performance Institute). This screen will determine your golfer fitness handicap and help the physical therapists identify some likely compensations with your swing.

After preliminary testing, they will then utilize the Noraxon motion capture system technology, within our Wisconsin Performance Institute, to conduct the golf swing analysis.

This world-class technology is comprised of 2 high-speed cameras and 14 individual sensors, which will be placed on your body, to aid the system in constructing your own personal avatar. The technology in the sensors will allow the physical therapists to look at your individual joint angles and specific body mobility. This ultimately helps them determine if your swing is efficient for your body.

How will you benefit from this analysis?

After your evaluation, the physical therapists will look at the sequence of your back swing, transition and downswing. By correctly sequencing your body segments, based on the way you move at these phases of your golf swing, they will be able to increase your consistency, ball striking, and distance. And keep you playing longer, without pain!

The avatar will show any limitations or faults you may have in real-time, while the TPI screen will provide you with your golf fitness handicap. With this technology, you will be able to see first-hand how we can improve your swing efficiency and maximize it individually to you.

What do you need to bring to a golf specific analysis?

  • Golf Shoes
  • Golf Clubs (glove if wanted)
  • Athletic Shorts
  • T-shirt or tank top/sleeveless shirt if possible

How long will the golf analysis take?

It takes 90 minutes to complete a Golf Swing Analysis and 45 minutes for the TPI Screen. Follow up sessions are scheduled for 45 minutes each.
