1968

In September 1968, Dr. C. A. Klasinski founded Klasinski Clinic in Stevens Point, Wis. The staff initially consisted of one physician (Dr. Klasinski), one receptionist, and one X-ray technician. Dr. Klasinski’s vision of a Stevens Point clinic developed long before the doors opened, although not even he could foresee the clinic’s future growth.

1990s

In 1992, Dr. Matthew Riordan returned home to join Dr. Klasinski at the clinic. Dr. Klasinski retired the next year, and three years later the clinic happily welcomed Dr. Thomas Guse into practice.

2006

In June 2006, the current Klasinski Medical Complex was built, housing Klasinski Clinic Orthopaedics, Sports Medicine, and Therapy, as well as other specialty clinics and services. The complex was and is owned by partners dedicated to independent healthcare for Stevens Point and Plover-area residents.

2008

In Summer 2008, the clinic doubled the number of physicians when Dr. David Henneghan and Dr. James Banovetz joined the practice.

2014

In July 2014, Klasinski Clinic began offering physical therapy services. In May 2016, our physical therapy services became powered by D1, in order to provide the latest technology and the best possible treatment.

2016

In Summer 2016, Klasinski Clinic Orthopaedics merged with Orthopaedic Associates of Wausau and established Orthopaedic Centers of Wisconsin. This helped us further our goal of providing Central Wisconsin with the best specialized orthopedic care.

2018

In Fall 2018, Klasinski Clinic Orthopaedics welcomed Dr. Marcus Haemmerle, Dr. Josh Troyer, and Dr. Todd Williams, helping us grow and become even more collaborative. To reflect this growth, we changed our name to Stevens Point Orthopedics.

Dr. Klasinski’s visions and aspirations remain a strong part of our organization. Our providers continue to embody his desire to provide excellent personalized care in his hometown.

2022

In early 2022, SPO began powering the Wisconsin Performance Institute, a new venture dedicated to helping people live better and maximize their physical potential by helping them move better. The WPI leverages state-of-the-art Noraxon motion-analysis equipment and skilled professionals to help people of all ages and all walks of life.
