Get Back Doing The Things You Love

At Stevens Point Orthopedics, our highly skilled physical therapists provide the best care possible to residents of Stevens Point, Plover, Wisconsin Rapids, and surrounding areas, to get you all the way back to the things you love.

Physical therapy is important in preventing injuries and aiding recovery. We understand each person is unique, so our physical therapists customize a plan to help relieve your pain, improve strength, increase level of function, and prevent future injury.

Treatment can include functional resistive exercises, stretching, hands-on manual therapy, and other specialized modalities.

Achieve Your Goals

Our patient-centered approach to therapy means we exhaust every avenue to successfully achieve individual goals. We treat everyone, from adolescents to adults, recreational to advanced competitive athletes, and surgical to non-surgical diagnoses. At any given time, it’s common for a patient recovering from a hip replacement to be working next to an athlete from a local high school.

Whether your goal is gardening, running a marathon, or getting back to the playing field, we integrate function into your therapy. Treatment sessions are varied, making each visit interesting and productive. The bright, energetic clinic space with state-of-the-art equipment creates a fun, positive atmosphere for each therapy session.

Partnering With Your Physician

Though you can receive treatment anywhere, our on-site physical therapy is designed to increase communication among your entire care team. Being partnered with your physician lets us ensure that everyone is on the same page. Our ultimate goal is to provide the finest, most professional care. Trust us with your physical therapy … you’ll know you’re in the right place!

SPO Physical Therapy client session

I have been a patient with SPO for a couple of years now. Everyone there is nice, helpful and cares about you and your symptoms. The physical therapy staff is top notch—Kris Riggs. I think they have some of the best doctors and surgical staff in the area. I’ve been to other orthopedic offices and hands down they are the best!

— Jonathon Shopinski

Kris Riggs is terrific! He’s helped me through two knee replacements and a bad back. He’s very responsive to specific needs and I really appreciated his professionalism and knowledge while still being a nice guy—and a good listener. Five stars.

— Diane Dieterich

Carter was very professional and really knew what I needed as far as physical therapy for my hip. Very friendly and personable. He is very passionate about what he does and will try a variety of exercises until he finds the ones that work the best. I would highly recommend him!

— Roxanne Matthias

Sheila is my therapist. She is such a well-trained and totally involved therapist! I thought my knee problems were beyond fixing, but she is showing me clear ways I can move beyond knee pain and creating an exercise strategy that supports strengthening the muscles and areas that need it. I feel so hopeful and excited!!

— Jean Breen

So today was the last day of my therapy. But I feel that all the therapy I had with Dave made all the difference in how my shoulder feels now. It was a long road but Dave made it fun and worth doing. He always had my best interest and care in mind. I would definitely recommend Stevens Point Orthopedic to anyone. They are truly the best.

— Kathy Taylor

Dan is the best of the best, literally! I’ve been seeing him for approximately 7 years now & refuse to see anyone else! He’s beyond educated and has gotten me back to where I needed to be faster than what doctors expected on numerous occasions!

— Beth Wroblewski

Sarah is a kind and patient physical therapist that eases my concerns and is very helpful with my recovery.

— Jacquie Thompson

I had my initial evaluation with Kimara and I believe she thoroughly assessed my condition and made recommendations that will improve my pain and healing concerns.

I enjoy going to physical therapy as Dave is amazing at what he does. He’s helped my recovery go as smooth as possible.

— Melissa Ceplina

Ryan and Staff at Stevens Point Orthopedics were accommodating and professional. Comprehensive evaluation with logical progressive solutions.

Improve Your Athletic Performance

Movement Performance Lab

Bring your game to the next level with our new movement analysis system. Our trained clinicians work with you to unlock your performance potential, using high-speed cameras that break down your movements at up to 200 frames per second.

After gaining a comprehensive understanding of your performance history and goals, we record your movements and create a report. Sixteen sensors capture motion, and eight sensors monitor muscle strength. Combined, they form a digital 3D representation of your full body that gives the most accurate visualization of your mechanics.

This video and sensor data lets us detect inefficiencies which we can improve with corrective and strengthening exercises. We specialize in walking and running evaluations, but the system also captures high-speed motions like a golf swing or a baseball/softball pitch. Best of all, the system is portable, so we can bring it to where you practice.
