Spring Activities Around Stevens Point

Spring is officially here, which means warm weather is well on its way! It’s time to start thinking of activities you and your family can enjoy this season. To help you out, we came up with a list of a few of our local favorites to share with you:

The Green Circle Trail is a perfect fit for you if you are looking for the full outdoor experience. Given the options to walk, run, or bike, it’s a 26-mile trail that will take you around the Stevens Point area. You can explore forests, parks, wetlands and rivers! It connects with over 20 miles of additional trails and one of them leads to the Stevens Point Sculpture Park. This park covers 20 acres of land and is filled with sculptures from local, regional, and national artists. So head on over to the park and enjoy the beauty of nature and art as one!

For more outdoor family activities, Mead Park is a perfect fit. There are tennis courts, pickleball courts, baseball diamonds, and a beach (for when it warms up, of course.) For all the disc golf lovers, Mead Park has a full 9-hole course located next to the beautiful Wisconsin River. KASH playground is also located here for the children’s enjoyment!

We can’t forget the saying — April showers bring May flowers. Since we know the weather isn’t always sunny and warm; the Riverfront Art Center offers a variety of art exhibits as an indoor alternative. The Riverfront Art Center supports local artists in the Stevens Point area and provides them the opportunity to showcase and sell their projects. Each spring they host an exhibit with art pieces created from the popular Easter candy, Peeps.

Want to brush up on your culinary skills with local ingredients? The Stevens Point Farmers Market starts up again in May. Get your favorite fresh produce from local vendors every week, Monday through Saturday, until October!
